The Secrets are: Phonics, Alphabet Fun, Reading, and Writing!

Everything has a secret to it and once you know that secret you can master any subject. Reading is that quintessential skill that will take you through life, opening every door. Learning the alphabet and then working with phonics to understand the different sounds letter combinations make, will enable the child to start reading little books. Children love picture books that combine a story with beautiful illustations. For a wonderful and unique picture book, visit www.pamthedog.com In addition, developing fine motor skills is also very important. Reading and writing are related. Taking the time to learn to write something everyday will develop the fine motor skills that a child also needs to succeed in school - holding a pencil, a pen, coloring, and drawing. Writing will also develop the eye-hand coordination that is so important too. When children are learning to read it, is like watching a beautiful flower open, one petal at a time. All of a sudden, the day arrives when there is now a beautiful blossom. It is very similar when you are learning to read. Each day, build your skills, and suddenly, you have mastered it! Learn by doing and you will never forget!

Phonics are the Secret!
Phonics is absolutely the secret of learning to read and then developing strong reading skills. Just as a piece of piano music requires daily practice to perform it well, strong reading skills require learning by the use of phonics. When children build on these over the course of time, all of a sudden, they realize they can read and they are good at it too! A whole new world is now open to them.
Reading is the strong foundation of a child's educational house. I believe that if you can read, you can do absolutely anything, because you will have confidence. All children are eager to learn something new when the materials are presented to them in a way that not only facilitates learning, but is also an enjoyable experience.
I have written a children's book that will present geography to them in a fun and entertaining way while they also build reading skills and enjoy the story. It is being developed into an entire series, and the characters will go all around the world, meet new people, and learn about the different countries and what there is to see and do there. Please feel free to visit my website, which is http://www.pamthedog.com to find out the answer to this question: Where in the World is Pam the Dog? Happy reading!
Let's Talk to the World

It is wonderful to be able to read and speak in another language. This is also another way to explore our world. Learning a foreign language makes your own grammatical skills stronger because every language has a different stucture. Along with making your own reading skills even stronger, it gives you the added benefit of gaining insight into another culture. When children are learning a second language, it is also a lot of fun to look at a globe and see the entire world, and where the other country is located in relation to their own.

For some additional insight, if you could diagram the way different languages work, English is a language that moves in straight lines. It gets right to the point. An example would be "I will go, or I will not go." Other languages would diagram differently and want to discuss other things before the point is made. This is all so fascinating. Some languages have the adjective in a different place. Knowing these things will build fluency in another language and assist in learning about the culture. It is also very helpful if there is a way to practice and have back and forth interaction with another person to strengthen your skills. Go out to dinner and see if you can speak in the other language while you are there. Another good idea is to watch a television channel that offers programming in another language. Before you know it, you will be able to follow it whether it is a movie or the evening news.

Read to your Newborn

When you read to your newborn (which I have done) wonderful things happen! It sharpens up their brain activity and works their vision. They also enjoy this extra time with you, hearing your voice while you are reading, and looking at the colorful pictures in the childrens picture book you are reading to them. For a wonderful and unique childrens picture book, please visit http://www.pamthedog.com/ By the time your child is a toddler, they will adore books and might even try to read along with you. A bedtime story at night will be something your child will always look forward to as well. Time passes quickly and all of a sudden it will be time to start school and go to kindergarten. You will see that they now have an advantage because they have been looking at books since they were born. They will be an avid reader and this will enhance all the other subjects they will be studying while they go through school.
The best teaching needs to take place during childhood to build a strong foundation that will carry them through junior high, high school, college, possibly graduate school, and then through their chosen life's work. Reading is most definitely the foundation of a child's educational house. It is also the key that unlocks educational treasure. Happy reading!
